kind of a subtoot, attention / busyness meta
Trying to figure out the appropriate way to deal with someone who posts a lot and where I'd like to pay attention, but don't have, like, *that much* attention to spare. A way to disable self-boosts? Collapsing of sequential toots from the same user in the timeline?
Asking the person in question to tone it down isn't my style, but technical solutions to social problems are often flaky. 😕
How many people, total, would you guess are necessary to work at a small independent grocery store?
Yes, it's an incredibly low margin business and I shouldn't be considering it. But still. Guesses? Actual knowledge?
(I just surveyed one; plan on asking others as I run into them. But I'm curious what people think. Boosts are fine, if you may know people with good guesses.)

Sitting in the back of a vehicle with a seatbelt but just a metal loop where the buckle should be on the seat, trying to work out the best way to wrap things in case the vehicle hits something at 60 MPH.
Can't produce the name of what I've done, but it's the "shove a loop inside another loop" thing, and then rolled down the slack. I think it'll stay taut for a good 200-400ms, which is probably all I need. Other ideas? (CC @gdkar )
land, prices, etc.
Living, as I do, in relative proximity to a capital-c City, it's amazing to me how many places in the US you can look for a plot of land and go "Huh, okay, $40k feels a *little* pricey just for a plot out here. Wait, it's 10+ acres? And includes a small house?".
(This may be a sightly contrived example, as I only ran into like two of those this evening, and usually the buildings aren't something you'd necessarily want to live in permanently, but even so. Prices vary *wildly*.)

I'm going to listen to two mashups until I get this LaTeX abomination* working.
This is either a good idea or a terrible idea.
